Sacred Locs (formerly known as Headknots Dreadlocks) officially came to life in 2014, when we were inspired to turn our passion for dreadlocks into a way of life. We are a mobile service, often on the road servicing many areas across the United States.
We typically operate in Southern California; Los Angeles, Orange County, and the Inland Empire.
We do not have a shop, which allows for lower pricing. Many clients prefer their appointment to take place in the comfort of their own homes. If that does not suit you, we can meet at a park or other shaded outdoor or mutual indoor location.
NOT ALL METHODS ARE CREATED EQUAL
We use the crochet method to create and maintain dreadlocks in ALL hair types. Our specific crochet method is very intentional and considered a weaving and knotting, as opposed to a random stabbing. This has been found by many to be much less painful, and more effective than other crochet methods. I put a lot of love into my work- and strive to provide a positive and comfortable space for my clients.
Our crochet method will create a sturdier baby dreadlock from the very beginning than any other method. Dreadlocks created using the crochet method can be washed and handled right away, as they have been weaved into many taut and intricate knots. Dreadlocks created with the crochet method also lose much less length than any other method.
Please be aware of what method your dreadlock artist uses to start your locs, and if it is right for you and your hair type- it could potentially make or break your dreadlock journey.
